Our Wide Body Nose Dock facilitates nose maintenance and completion of windshield placement. The base footprint of the stand is constructed primarily of 6061-T6 aluminum. Top platform is 24' x 14' and is height-adjustable from 159" to 183" using proprietary jacks.

Our Wide Body Nose Docks allow your mechanics and engineers the ability to focus on maintenance instead of how to get safe and optimal access to the aircraft. A commercial aircraft generates no income while in the hangar. It is our job to create the safest and most efficient maintenance stands and aircraft docking systems possible so that the mechanics and technicians can return the aircraft to service as rapidly as possible. *This pricing is for the B767 & B787 without Side Access Extension. This Wide Body Nose Dock version has been tested and is operational on a number of different wide-body aircraft models including:

These 767 and 787 Nose Access Stands were a custom project for a well-known major airline. All specifications and pictures shown represent the side access extension, although upon request we may supply all documentation for the nose stand without side extension. Fabrication Authorities International will provide all engineering (design and analysis), procurement, manufacturing, acceptance testing, on-site assembly and technical assistance (O & M Manual) in support of the 767/787 Nose Access Stands.

FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS:
The platform work area encapsulates a 24' x 14' area around the nose (with 12’ additional for the passenger access door option). Our design will safely support a minimum operating (or working) load of 1200 lbs, distributed. The platforms are a welded construction using custom formed aluminum planking sections with a unique non-slip walking surface and a high strength aluminum box beam support structure. In addition presented is an option for direct passenger door access extending a further 12 feet aft on the passenger entry door side of the aircraft. The decking is a designed-for-purpose maintenance stand decking material called Dimple Deck. The raised dimples provide superb traction under foot, even when covered in liquids or lubricants, and also provide for drainage through integrated drain holes in the deck, all while not causing minor injury from typical traction tread.
Sliders allow for contouring to the profile of aircraft due to variations of stand placement. Fabrication Authorities International incorporates adjustable sliding deck sections with non-marking protective rubber "D" bumper provided along slider edges next to the aircraft to prevent accidental damage due to incidental contact. Bumper material is also placed on the upper stand frame area facing the plane.
Articulating Stairs
Articulating stairways constructed to meet OSHA Standards for safety and fall protection allow for ease of travel amongst technicians, ultimately self-adjusting for height differentials while maintaining level steps with negligible differences in appropriate ranges for climbing angles.
Fall Prevention
Guardrails in compliance with OSHA requirements are included around all open edges of the working platform. The top of the guardrails on the top platform are 42 inches above the top deck with a proper mid-rail, and can sustain 200 lb. lateral loading forces for safety. Four-inch high toe-boards are also provided. A self-closing hinged gate closes off the work platform upon entering from the stairs. We also offer safety orange powder coating and metal mesh screening on all three sides, half height.
Passenger Door Access
The Nose Access Stand option allows for Passenger Door access and interaction. This option includes a second articulating stairway and profiling sliders to compensate for the differential in fuselage profile at various heights and between aircraft.
Platform Height Adjustability
Ganged jacks allow for raising and lowering the platform while enhancing the user experience by allowing the operator to adjust the platform height infinitely without the need for a fork lift. The top platform can be adjusted between 159" and 183" above the floor using the superior stability system which utilizes aerospace grade technology. The jack is designed to provide low cost, ridged, mechanically synchronized jacking free of unwanted movement. Our proprietary “puck” system ensures the telescoping tubes are always centered with zero deviation. All parts and components are precision laser cut and CNC machined to tight tolerances. The jacks utilize a single point drive system which can be operated at low rpm using a standard drill motor and hex fitting. Single point drive system components include differential gear drives (qty. 3 or 4 pending option selection), multiple couplings, pillow blocks, drive shaft tubing and mounting brackets.
Mobility
The stand can be moved/transported in two ways. The stand is mounted on four heavy duty 12” swivel casters with polyurethane wheels. Swivel locks (90 degree increments), full face wheel brakes, and toe guard options are included. The casters allow easy positioning by personnel around the aircraft. A hinged tow bar is also provided for moving with machine.
Davit with (*Electric Hoist Option)
A swinging davit may be supplied on each the left and right side to assist if lifting windshields into place. Each davit will be equipped with an electric hoist. The two Northern Industrial heavy-duty electric hoists are rated for 750-lb. capacity (w/single line). 2HP motors with 16-gauge anti-twist wire, spring-loaded remote buttons and emergency stop button are included. Also, has 53” corded remotes, with lifting hooks, and plugs into standard 110V 3-prong line.

Tool Trays
Two powder coated self-draining tool trays are provided in preferred locations.
Finish
Aluminum is inherently corrosive resistant, and does not typically require protective finish. Therefore, the majority of the stand will not be finished. However all of the guardrails and toe-boards are finished in a safety orange powder-coating or other color options available upon request. MP Industries, Inc utilizes a proprietary "Dimple Decking".
Optional Utilities
Optional air and electrical utility stations are available upon request. Two utility panels per stand would include four QD air ports, and a GFI protected duplex receptacle each. Individual receptacles are GFI protected, and it assumed incoming power is regulated at source. Source power and source air would need to be brought to the base of stand (Air hose reels and/or SOW cord with plug are available for additional quoting if required).
Lighting
Optional lighting is available. Standard 4’ enclosed fluorescent fixtures with clear polycarbonate lenses. Uses (2) 54W T5HO lamps. A quantity of 4 lights would be mounted horizontally on an upwards angle on mounting brackets and hung on guardrails. Requires source power at the base of the stand.
Documentation
The following documentation will be provided at the completion of the project.
- All MSDS documentation for all coating processes and hazardous materials.
- A Certificate of Conformance (COC) for each stand signed by our QA representative.
- Two hard-copy sets of operation and maintenance manuals will be provided.
- Operation and maintenance manuals will also be provided in electronic format.

- Correct Operating Procedures
- Recommended Preventative Maintenance Schedule
- Suggested Spare Parts
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping in the form of a dedicated flatbed with tarps to protect from road grime in transit may be priced as an individual line item. Customers can opt to take care of their own freight collect.
